We have sold our own Semiblack whetstone holder for years with good results, it did the job at an affordable price. However, after encountering Naniwa's whetstone holder, we realised we were dealing with a superior product. 

The big difference between the two stone holders is the weight and construction. The Naniwa stone holder is beefy, thick and overall tank-like. The silicone rubber used in its feet are also moulded in a way that provides even more grip than our own product. Sharpening on the Naniwa stone holder felt more stable.

Even though the price is slightly higher, we feel that it is worth the premium, and hence decided to sell it alongside our own product. Our whetstone holder is focussed on affordablility, and the Naniwa one would be focussed on premium build quality.

Both products are constructed with 304 stainless steel parts, so they are very resistant to rusting.
