Hand-crafted using the latest SG Strix PM steel by Takefu, an extremely fine-grained steel with a high working hardness of HRC 65. This knife is a testament to Nigara Hamono's commitment to pushing the boundaries with regards to modern knife making. Not only is the steel exceptional, but the workmanship is equally so. The tsuchime pattern on the blade showcases two types of hammering patterns for a refined and sophisticated appearance. The damascus pattern on the primary bevel is so striking it looks almost 3-dimensional in person.
Note 1: The handle is made from rosewood and a buffalo horn ferrule. These are natural materials in which the colour and hues can vary and every knife will have a unique combination that might differ from that in our pictures.
Note 2: Nigara knives tend to be shorter than their stated length because the measurement is from the neck to the tip, instead of the edge length. This feature is also typical of Sakai-made knives.
